How duel results are verified
How console duel results are confirmed, what the screenshot does, what happens in a dispute, and what to do when a match breaks or the other player never reports.
In a console duel the game runs on your own console, so Skill.io cannot watch it. Results are settled from what both players report, backed by a screenshot, with a person deciding when the reports disagree.
How are console duel results confirmed?
Both players report who won after the game. If the two reports agree, the match settles right away. If only one player reports and it names their opponent as the winner, that is a concession and it settles on that.
Reports that conflict open a dispute for a moderator.
What does the screenshot do?
When you upload a photo of the final result screen, Skill.io reads the scoreline and shows you what it found, including whether it says you won, while you are still on the report screen. It backs up your report and speeds things along.
It does not decide the match on its own, because a single screenshot can be cropped or edited.
What happens in a dispute?
If the two reports contradict each other, the match is held and a moderator reviews the evidence: reports, screenshots and any linked-account data. They make the final call.
Nobody is paid until it is resolved. A refund is one possible ruling, never the automatic result of an argument.
What if the other player never reports?
Once you report, your opponent has a set time to answer before your report can stand on its own. A lone win claim only settles without the opponent when it passes extra checks, such as a small stake and a clean record. Otherwise there is a longer wait and a person decides.
Every match a player leaves unreported earns a strike, and enough strikes pause the account for new matches. If nobody reports at all, the match is voided and both stakes are returned. The exact times are on the match page and in the FAQ.
What if the match itself broke?
If there was a disconnect or a crash, flag the match as invalid from the match page instead of reporting a result. Your opponent can confirm the flag, which returns both stakes at once, or contest it, which sends it to an admin.
An opponent who quits while losing is not an invalid match. Report the score as it stood, because quitting counts as a loss.
How long are screenshots kept?
A screenshot you attach to a report is read for the scoreline right away and then kept, privately, for a set number of days so a dispute or a payment query later can still see it. After that the file is deleted. The record of the reading and who uploaded it stays.
